Sample protocol SM18 lipid films were prepared from chloroform stock solutions and dried under an inert atmosphere. Samples were hydrated with ultrapure water using repeated freeze–thaw cycles to achieve full hydration. Vesicles were prepared by extrusion prior to SAXS measurements.
